OEM-supported connectivity for BMW and MINI’s extensive fleet of BEVs and PHEVs adds a globally recognized premium brand to ev.energy’s hardware-agnostic platform, delivering greater energy flexibility for energy companies in the UK and across Europe.

LONDON, UK –26 February 2026 – ev.energy, a leading smart electric vehicle (EV) charging and Distributed Energy Asset (DER) software platform, today announced a new, OEM-supported integration with BMW and MINI vehicles in Europe. Powered in partnership with Enode, a leading API platform for connected energy devices, this collaboration expands ev.energy's market coverage to over 80% of EVs in Europe. The integration enables energy companies to offer seamless smart charging propositions to a vast segment of drivers, now including those across BMW and MINI’s full electric and plug-in hybrid range.

As energy retailers navigate shifting regulatory requirements, customer needs, and price fluctuations, the demand for sophisticated partners capable of orchestrating behind-the-meter assets has never been higher. The ev.energy platform provides energy companies with a comprehensive smart charging value stack, encompassing everything from generation capacity and wholesale market trading to ancillary services and beyond, all with a seamless customer experience to support retention.

The platform now integrates with an extensive list of models—including the flagship BMW i4, BMW i5, BMW i7, BMW iX and MINI Cooper BEVs, as well as popular PHEVs like the BMW 330e and BMW 530e. This integration is immediately available to ev.energy's energy company clients and their drivers across the UK and the European Union. By connecting to BMW Group’s vehicle API via Enode's unified platform, ev.energy can remotely monitor and intelligently manage charging sessions, ensuring vehicles draw power when it is cheapest, cleanest, and most beneficial for the grid.

Expanding Grid-Scale Connectivity Across the European Market

This strategic integration reinforces ev.energy's commitment to building a truly interoperable energy future. ev.energy leverages both direct and best-in-class partner integrations to ensure energy companies can engage the maximum number of drivers and scale effectively.

By adding BMW and MINI, a global leader in automotive innovation and premium mobility, ev.energy further secures its position as the proven market leader in residential managed charging. The platform’s market-leading interoperability across Europe provides energy retailers and grid operators with:

  • Unmatched Scale: Immediate access to a broader, more diverse pool of flexible EV load for Virtual Power Plant (VPP) initiatives.
  • Future-Proof Flexibility: A hardware-agnostic solution that automatically includes a wide array of battery electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles, plus EV chargers, home batteries, and solar inverters.
  • Enhanced Grid Revenue: Dynamic control over charging sessions to flatten peak demand curves and maximize the integration of renewable energy sources creates new grid service revenue streams.

Nick Woolley, CEO & Co-Founder of ev.energy, said:BMW Group is a global leader in automotive excellence, and we are proud to formally include their extensive European EV line-up in our ecosystem through our collaboration with Enode. This is another milestone in our mission to unlock the value of energy flexibility for our clients in a scalable and equitable way.
